Business vocabulary

Benchmark

-          a : a point of reference from which measurements may be made
-          b : something that serves as a standard by which others may be measured or judged
-          c : a standardized problem or test that serves as a basis for evaluation or comparison (as of computer system performance)

Branch

-          a natural subdivision of a plant stem; especially : a secondary shoot or stem arising from a main axis (as of a tree)

Brand

-          a class of goods identified by name as the product of a single firm or manufacturer

Business

-          a : a usually commercial activity
-          b : a commercial or sometimes an industrial enterprise

Company

-          an association of persons for carrying on a commercial or industrial enterprise

Grant

-          something granted; especially : a gift (as of land or money) for a particular purpose

Invoice

-          an itemized list of goods shipped usually specifying the price and the terms of sale : bill
o   invoice data
o   invoice closing process

Profit

-          the excess of returns over expenditure in a transaction or series of transactions; especially : the excess of the selling price of goods over their cost
o   Non - profit association

Turnover

-          a : a cycle of purchase, sale, and replacement of a stock of goods 
-          b : the ratio of sales for a stated period to average inventory 
-          c : the amount received in sales for a stated period
